is a postsecondary educational institution which provides training for specialists in the area of psychology, clinical psychology, psychological counseling and psychotherapy.
Educational activities have been carried out at IPPP since 1991. The Institute is one of the first in Russia which began to train specialists in different areas of practical psychology.
The Institute offers an opportunity to receive higher (postsecondary) education in the following specialty areas:
- 030301.65 - Psychology (specialization: Psychological counseling)
- 030302.65 - Clinical psychology (specialization: Psychological correction and psychotherapy)
A distinctive feature characterizing the postsecondary education programs is a mutually supplementing combination of Russian and Western approaches to teaching psychologists/counselors and clinical psychologists. This presupposes a knowledge of modern scientific psychology and confident mastery of psychotherapy skills.
The education is focused on training psychologists, primarily as practitioners who are able to provide realistic help in solving psychological problems.
The Institute also offers professional continued education (reorientation) in the following specialty areas:
- Psychological counseling,
- Psychoanalytic psychotherapy,
- System family psychotherapy,
- Dance movement therapy,
- Analytic psychology and Jungian analysis.
The educational programs provided by the Institute enable to acquire a profound knowledge in the area of psychological counseling and psychotherapy. These programs correspond to the standards of education as enunciated by Russian and international psychotherapy associations and they are a part of the qualification requirements necessary for access to them.
The goal pursued by IPPP is to provide an education in psychology and psychotherapy which will predetermine the whole future career of its graduates, will enable them to be successful practicing specialists, to continue their professional development and to be integrated into the international psychotherapeutic community.
